School Shootings, Lockdowns, Body Shaming, Bullying And Climate Change: Award Winning Selfie Filmmaker Barbara Becker Holstein Announces New Roku Channel, "The Enchanted Self Presents"

Dr. Holstein is an award winning Selfie Filmmaker, Positive Psychologist and podcaster who helps young people overcome anxiety and alienation through multiple media channels.

""[Long Branch, NJ, March 24, 2020] Award winning author, selfie filmmaker and positive psychologist Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced a new channel now available for Roku devices. Entitled "The Enchanted Self Presents:", the new channel will feature podcasts, selfie films and other media that help young people overcome the anxiety and alienation associated with school shootings, lockdowns, body shaming, social media, bullying, climate change and other issues young people today must face.

Dr. Holstein's award winning Selfie films have participated in over 90 film festivals and competitions. Her ongoing podcast series has featured both notable influencers, educators and teens who make a difference in the world, She is the founder of The Selfie project and the Selfie Showcase.

“My goal with the new channel is to open another door to where kids and young adults can have a real voice that gets heard,” Dr. Holstein stated. “Not only are kids and young adults our nation's future, but they are under heard in our society as a whole. Many of them have amazing insights, great awareness of what ails society and many possible solutions. Many kids and young adults want to move away from a society that relies so heavily on social media, video games, and other forms of expression that can lead to personal isolation. Enchanted Self Presents is a gateway to help them to be heard and to be recognized as our most precious influential next generation. They deserve that we treat them well, open doors for them and respect their ideas, issues, thoughts and potential solutions."

Dr. Holstein recently created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people. She is now accepting submissions from the public for the "Selfie Showcase" and is actively seeking change-makers and mental health professionals to appear on her monthly video podcast.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfies or selfie films around important subjects, using a smart phone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in a number of ways, some of the issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Selected participants may appear on the Selfie Project Channel, available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3uaOTcYF70z5CpBh11VoUQ. They will also appear in the Selfie Showcase on SelfieFilmmakers.com. They will receive a certificate of merit, and may be invited to be on Holstein's monthly podcast or perhaps be a part of her next film. Full details, rules for submission and helpful hints can be accessed at the Selfie Filmmakers site at http://www.selfiefilmmakers.com/instructions.
